The New England Patriots should definitely focus on bolstering their pass-rushing capabilities this offseason, and Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Joseph Ossai could be a strong addition.

Ossai has been playing in the NFL since 2022, during which he has recorded 14.5 sacks and 16 tackles for loss across 61 career games.

This past season, Pro Football Focus ranked Ossai as the 69th-best edge rusher out of 115 players. However, he performed solidly in run defense, earning the 25th spot, while ranking 68th in pass rush.

There is considerable uncertainty surrounding the futures of Patriots pass rushers Harold Landry III and K’Lavon Chaisson and whether they will return to New England next season.

If either of the two doesn’t return to the Patriots, then Ossai would be a solid choice to replace one of the players.

The main concern with the Patriots potentially signing Ossai is the price tag he may come with. Spotrac recently projected his market value at around $9.2 million per season, which might be a hefty sum for New England to absorb.
