The New England Patriots might be looking to shake things up in the wide receiver room this offseason, but they shouldn’t consider adding Christian Kirk to the mix.
Kirk has been in the NFL since 2018, playing for teams such as the Arizona Cardinals, Jacksonville Jaguars, and, most recently, the Houston Texans.
In his latest season, he recorded 28 receptions for 239 yards and scored one touchdown. However, he didn’t perform well overall, with Pro Football Focus ranking him 75th out of 81 wide receivers and assigning him a reception grade of 75.
Kirk is nearing the end of his career and is set to turn 30 in November. A few seasons ago, adding Kirk to the wide receiver room would have been a fantastic move, but that’s no longer the case.
Spotrac also listed Kirk’s market value at $5.4 million per season, which is not the price tag New England should be willing to pay.
The Patriots have various directions they can take at wide receiver this offseason, and bringing in Kirk shouldn’t be one of them.
