Red Sox Take Game One Of AL Wild Card Series With Yankees

Entering the seventh inning down 1-0, Masataka Yoshida batted in Ceddanne Rafaela and Nick Sogard to take the lead over the Yankees in game one of the AL Wild Card Series.

Garrett Crochet struck out 11 in 7.2 innings pitched, keeping New York to just one run.

Alex Bregman’s double in the ninth sealed the win for Boston, bringing in Trevor Story to end the game with a 3-1 victory.

The Red Sox will be back at Yankee Stadium Wednesday night for game two of the AL Wild Card Series with New York.
