Red Sox Bats Go Wild Late To Snatch Game From Rays In Opener

After going back and forth to tie the game in the first three innings, the Tampa Bay Rays pulled ahead 3-2 over the Red Sox with a home run from Yandy Díaz. It seemed like the Red Sox would need some late-game heroics, and Jarren Duran delivered with a two-run home run in the seventh inning.

The Red Sox broke open the game in the eighth inning, scoring seven runs thanks to Nate Eaton, Ceddanne Rafaela, Trevor Story, Masataka Yoshida, Romy Gonzalez, and Nathaniel Lowe.

Alex Bregman homered in the third, and Garrett Crochet struck out nine in the 11-7 win.
