A.J. Brown or Stefon Diggs?
The New England Patriots apparently believe there’s a chance they won’t have to choose between the two…
MassLive’s Karen Guregian and Mark Daniels revealed there are some folks in/around the organization who believe there’s an avenue to pair the two superstars after gathering intel at the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine and sharing it with the general public on Friday.
“According to our sources, there’s a scenario where the Patriots could have both receivers on the roster,” Guregian and Daniels wrote. “In the event Diggs is willing to restructure his contract, the team sees an avenue to pair him with Brown.”
It’s probably more of a pipe dream than anything at this stage, but you can see how things might actually come together. Brown is as close to a guarantee to be traded as anyone this offseason, as his relationship with the Philadelphia Eagles has slowly deteriorated over the last several seasons. Diggs doesn’t really have a choice but to restructure if he wants to stick around, as it sounds like the organization will present him with an incentive-laided restructure and cut him if things don’t line up.
