Boston Bruins forward Morgan Geekie is excited to see who the team adds ahead of the March 6 NHL trade deadline.

The Bruins were sellers at last year’s trade deadline, as Boston traded away the likes of Brad Marchand and Brandon Carlo.

“It kind of feels polar opposite, to be honest,” Geekie said after Thursday’s win. “I think this group’s done a great job of kind of putting ourselves in the position to stand pat or add guys, whatever they see fit. We have put in a good enough season where we are able to (add).

“It’s a results-driven business, and I think for us, it’s just kind of a testament to what we’ve done all year and just to continue to build. So you can kind of feel it every game we know we give ourselves a chance to win, regardless of who we’re playing. So, it’s a lot more fun, for sure.”

The Bruins have been looking to add a defenseman and potentially some forward help for a playoff push.

With Boston’s 4-2 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets, the Bruins are still holding onto a playoff spot, and Geekie hopes the team is active ahead of the deadline.

Boston is now 33-20-5 and will take on the Philadelphia Flyers on the road on Saturday.
