Ford Final Five: Bruins Have No Answer To Sharks Youth Movement

Bruins forward Fabian Lysell made his second appearance for the Boston Bruins since his debut on December 28, 2024 in Saturday’s late-night game against the San Jose Sharks. He had three shots on goal and logged 13:16 in his second career NHL game.

The Sharks opened up scoring in the second off of the stick of William Eklund, one of the Sharks’ young core members. He was assisted by fellow young gun and No. 1 pick in the 2024 NHL Draft Macklin Celebrini, who netted his 30th and 31st assist on Saturday. It made him the fastest player in Sharks history to reach 30 career assists with only 58 games.

The Bruins scored a tying goal late in the second period from Casey Mittelstadt, but remained without another goal for the remainder of the game. This is the 19th time this season that the Bruins have scored 1 or fewer goals in a game.

The Sharks scored two in the final frame to finally snap the Bruins 14-game win streak versus San Jose. It was the longest active streak in the NHL. The Boston Bruins are on a 5-game losing streak.
